Grandma's maiden name was ZombelinesThere's ninety years to tell about in a few short linesBorn in Newton County down in ArkansasThen in nineteen-one she married GrandpaWe laid her soul to rest one Sunday mornin'And everybody knew she'd done her partDon't get set to hear no hidden family legendJust a song about the life of Grandma HarpJust think about the times that she lived throughAnd think about the changing world she sawNow somehow she reared a decent family out of povertyAnd for seventy years she loved the same old GrandpaTo me, her passing brought a closing chapterTo a way of life that I love within my heartI just mean to say I think we owe her something specialIf just a song about the life of Grandma HarpGrandma's maiden name was ZombelinesThere's ninety years to tell about in a few short linesBorn in Newton County down in ArkansasThen in nineteen-one she married GrandpaWe laid her soul to rest one Sunday mornin'And everybody knew she'd done her partDon't get set to hear no hidden family legendJust a song about the life of Grandma Harp
