(Allen Shamblin/Steve Wariner)Gonna kick off my shoesAnd run in bare feetWhere the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meetGoin' back to the well gonna visit old friendsAnd feed my soul where the blacktop endsI'm lookin' down the barrel of Friday nightRidin' on a river of freeway lightsGoodbye city I'm country bound'Til Monday rolls aroundGonna kick off my shoesAnd run in bare feetWhere the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meetGoin' back to the well gonna visit old friendsAnd feed my soul where the blacktop endsWorkin' in the grind is an uphill roadPunchin' that clock and carryin' that loadI bust it all week and then I'm freeThe weekend belongs to meGonna kick off my shoesAnd run in bare feetWhere the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meetGoin' back to the well gonna visit old friendsAnd feed my soul where the blacktop endsSo, come on and give me some fresh air give me that farmGive me some time with you in my armsFar away from the hustle and the pressure and the noiseGonna kick off my shoesAnd run in bare feetWhere the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meetGoin' back to the well gonna visit old friendsAnd feed my soul, you betchaGonna kick off my shoesAnd run in bare feetWhere the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meetGoin' back to the well gonna visit old friendsAnd feed my soul where the blacktop endsWhere the blacktop endsWhere the blacktop ends
