(Charles Quillen & Dallas Cody)She was young and she was prettyAnd she met him in the cityAnd somehow he fit right into her planShe knew she hit it luckyHe owned half of Kentucky and best of all,He was a sixty year old man.She let him think he'd caught herShe led him to the alterTotin' seven carats on her handAll dressed up in satinAw' the good Lord wasted that oneBut she knew she'd be the winner in the end.'Cause she only meant to use himShe only meant to use himAnd she didn't care if what she did was wrongShe only meant to use himAnd she knew what she was doingIn a few years she'd be rich and he'd be gone.--- Instrumental ---In their million dollar palaceThe man grew old and jealousAnd he never let her leave the house aloneShe was in her prime and holdingBut she knew that he was oldAnd chances were he wouldn't be around that long.As the days and nights grew longerThe greed in her grewstrongerAnd it even crossed her mind to take his lifeBut he found out he'd been takenAnd his pride was badly shakenedAnd he knew she never meant to be a wife. She only meant to use himShe only meant to use himBut she knew what she wanted in the endShe only meant to use him.But he knew what she was doingAnd he swore she'd never have a dime to spend.Tormented by frustrationShe watched her beauty wastingAs the lines upon her face began to showShe turned to heavy drinkin''Cause her ship was slowly sinkingAnd the bottle was the only place to go.Now 20 odd years laterThe headlines in the paperSaid they laid her soul to rest at 53And when they wheeled him to her coffinHe took her diamond offAnd he just smiled and finally died at 93.She only meant to use himLord knows she meant to use himBut she died with seven carats on her handAll dressed in satinAw' the good Lord wasted that oneBut her husband died a satisfied old man.She was young and she was prettyAnd she met him in the cityAnd somehow he fit right into her planShe knew she hit it luckyHe owned half of Kentucky and best of all,He was a sixty year old man...
